James Gammon, actor, and best known for his role as grumpy coach, Lou Brown in Major League and its sequel, has died at the age of 70.
Gammon passed away on Friday at his daughter’s home in Costa Mesa, California. He was surrounded by family and friends, after a battle with cancer of the adrenal glands and liver, according to the Los Angeles Times.
While Gammon was famed for his role as the manager of the Cleveland Indians in the much-loved baseball comedy. He also had actor roles in a variety of film and TV projects which included: Silverado and Cold Mountain. On television, he played the father Nick Bridges on Nash Bridges for five years.
Gammon leaves behind his wife of 38 years and two daughters.
The sister of Green Acres actress, Eva Gabor, Zsa Zsa Gabor, who is also an actress and socialite and 93-year-old, was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center late Saturday night. She is in serious condition, according to her publicist John Blanchette via The Associated Press.
Zsa Zsa Gabor suffered broken bones after falling out of her bed (reaching for her phone?) while watching television at her home in Bel Air, in Los Angeles, California.
Zsa Zsa Gabor has married nine times. Her current husband, Prince Frederic von Anhalt called the ambulance after the accident. Ms. Gabor is also referred to as Sari Prinz von Anhalt, since her marriage to Prince Frederic von Anhalt.
MS. Gabor has been partially paralyzed from a car accident in 2002, and confined to a wheelchair. She also had a stroke in 2005.
A Hollywood legend, Zsa Zsa Gabor has been married nine times. So much, that she once joked she was a good housekeeper, because everytime she married, she kept the house.
Gabor’s starred in television shows like The Milton Berle Show (1956), and served as a special guest on Gilligan’s Island (1965), and The Late Show with David Letterman (1994). She’s played in numerous movies, and best known for The Naked Gun 21/2: The Smell of Fear.

Concert to help all Gulf areas affected by oil spill …
Associated Press is reporting that the Giant Vessel nicknamed “The Whale” is being tested in the Gulf this weekend as the Largest Oil Skimmer in the World.
The Taiwanese vessel will cruise and skim a 25-square-mile test area through Sunday. The company TMT Shipping created this huge oil skimmer by retrofitting an oil tanker. The created it right after the explosion happened which is spilling millions of gallons of crude oil into the Gulf.
It has been very frustrating for the company as well as those who wish every resource available be used to cleanup this mess. Initially, the company was not allowed to help with the cleanup. Finally, they are being allowed to “test” the Whale.
One of the problems it has is its size. The area around the explosion site is very conjested and manuevering the Whale around so many vessels may be difficult.
Another problem is although the huge oil skimmer gets a large portion of the oil out of the water, some oil still is found in the water that will be put back into the gulf. They will have to have a special sign-off since oil skimmers are supposed to clean ALL oil from the water before putting it back into the gulf.
However, the literal amount of oil it CAN remove (or hopes to remove) will put a HUGE dent in the nasty mess.
