When is Mothers Day
A lot of people are wondering when is Mothers Day 2010.
This year Mothers day is Sunday, May 9 2010.
Be careful pre-ordering a Mothers Day gift to have it received either the Friday or Saturday before Mothers day. I did this twice and both times the gift did Not get delivered! So no pre-ordering for me …
About Mothers Day …
Mother’s Day is celebrated most often in May, as a day to honor mothers and motherhood.
In the United States it became a nationally recognized holiday in 1914 after a lady by the name of Anna Jarvis campaigned for it.
In 1912, Anna Jarvis trademarked the phrases “second Sunday in May” and “Mother’s Day”, and created the Mother’s Day International Association.
Sending or giving flowers seems to be the most favorite Mothers Day Gift. Other gift ideas include jewelry … a bracelet or necklace with kids birthstone are usually appreciated.
It seems this day is also when phone service is interrupted — everyone is calling their mother!
Taking Mom out to “brunch” or dinner is also a great way to appreciate your Mom!
